A new cousin Jackie White has begun to provide information about this line of the family.  Uncle Manuel Bernal left some hand written notes where he says aunt Carmen was Eva (Mom's) sister.

But her name was Martinez.  It appears that maybe there are some corrections and clarifications needed on this line. - Hyle

Message from Jackie.

I spoke with my mother this morning.  She said that she definitely
remembers growing up and spending time with "Aunt" Eva...who she said
she later found out was really a distant cousin (not sure which, but
not first cousins).  Carmen was a cousin of Eva's mother.  She said
that Eva's parents died when she was young and that Carmen took her in
and raised her.

According to my mother, here are some other things on your genealogy
that need to be corrected:

Nellie was a Sheridan, not a Norton.  Nellie's married name is Corona.
Nellie's son is Gilbert Corona (she doesn't remember the husband
Corona's first name).  Nellie's daughter is Hortense Corona McGarry.
Hortense had a daughter named Mary Ann (after Marianna Norton).

I don't know which "Tillie" you are referring to.  I had an Aunt
Tillie (Matilda Armenta, sister of Frank Medina Armenta).

The spelling of the city where Carmen was born is Caborca in the State
of Senora, Mexico (this one I looked up on the web).

I can see where your information of "Carmen O'Connor" could be
verbally transfered from "Carmen Ocano" which is the name on Carmen
Norton's death certificate.  But, I don't understand Jesus Molina.
The death certificate says Miguel Martinez.  My mother said that she
was sure that Eva was a cousin to Carmen, not a niece...that Eva's
mother was a cousin to Carmen, too...which is why my mother said that
Eva would have been a more distant cousin to her.

Looks like we both need to do some more digging!   ;-)

Thanks for the pictures!  I will share them with my mother.

Jackie
